“The Rings of Power” Prepares the Franchise’s Darkest Return Yet — and Already Has a Release Date

"The Rings of Power", available on Prime Video, is about to return with its third season — and anticipation surrounding the already confirmed date, November 11, 2026, is growing quickly among Tolkien fans.

The series premiered in 2022 as one of the most expensive bets Amazon had ever made on an original production, set thousands of years before the events of "The Lord of the Rings" — at the height of the Second Age of Middle-earth. Since then, it has already attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide, according to data released by Amazon MGM Studios itself, establishing itself as one of Prime Video's biggest global subscription drivers, even amid mixed reception from specialized critics.
