I just watched the premiere episodes of Lanterns on Max and let’s be honest… DC is completely embarrassing Marvel right now. The writing and the cinematography feel like a real detective show, while Marvel keeps serving us green-screen slop. Marvel is officially dead.

Lanterns actually has a vision, a tone, and a story to tell. I'd rather watch a compelling grounded mystery than another 2 hours of green screen fart jokes. Let's talk again at episode 8.

Those movies actually felt like cinema, they had real scripts and stakes, not just setups for the next 10 streaming shows. Both Marvel and DC are dead imo.

I just finished the first episode of Lanterns and I have thoughts! First of all, seeing Kyle Chandler—literally the guy from Early Edition!—back on my screen is giving me major 90s nostalgia. I used to love that show so much.
It’s definitely a bit weird seeing him as a superhero, though. He feels so incredibly grounded, like he’s actually more human than any of us. He's messy, he's flawed, and I kind of like it? lol
It’s not your typical flashy comic book vibe at all. Aaron Pierre is also an absolute star. Did anyone else catch the premiere?
